Norfolk and Cambridgeshire are going for MBT

Going for MBT ...Norfolk and Cambridgeshire

Norfolk switched after they had approved an 'Energy from Waste Plant' (as incinerators are usually termed..greenwash) but found the opposition too hot. Cardiff Councillors take notice!!!

So what are Norfolk and Cambridgeshire going to do with the MBT residue then?

Also, have they undertaken a life-cycle assessment of MBT against straightforward mass-burn incineration with energy recovery? MBT usually underperforms in comparison.

Regarding the MBT residue, I cannot comment on this particualr plant but if the plant operates like the Premier Advanced Recycling Centre (Parc) in Durham, the residue is a soil conditioner. Parc also extracts metals, glass and plastic bag waste for recycling. You can read more about Parc at www.recyclingre-invented.com or on the Parc blog at http://parcnotes.blogspot.com/.
This is a much better way to go than incineration. We do not need the massive release of carbon dioxide produced by buring waste.
